Today, we take a look at our city through food.

What are the flavors, aromas, tables, fields and farmers that make Kansas City a distinctive place for food lovers? In compiling our list, we crisscrossed the metro area checking out dozens of tips we’d been squirreling away all year. We were searching for seduction of the culinary kind. Our criteria were simple: What’s new? But also, who knew? We were foraging for people, products and destinations you may not have heard of, whether they are new to the food scene or just well-kept secrets.
