Cedar Creek’s newest neighborhood, The Retreat at Hidden Lake, is proving to be popular with prospective homeowners — so much so, in fact, that only four new home sites remain in the neighborhood, which offers oversized home sites that average 140 feet in width and 250-plus feet in depth.
The sites are over .75 to 1.25 acres in size, giving homeowners ample space on which to build their homes. And all of the home sites back to a streamway corridor, ensuring an abundance of green space and a picturesque view of the lush surroundings.

And that’s not all that’s happening at Cedar Creek, a resort-style community strategically located within the growing Kansas 10 corridor. Construction will begin on a new neighborhood, The Crossings at Southglen, later this summer with home sites available this fall. The neighborhood is within a short walk of Cedar Creek Elementary School, making this an ideal spot for families who are eager to live within the amenity-filled community.
Elsewhere in Cedar Creek, several purchase opportunities remain.
In the Woods of Southglen neighborhood, several new home starts are underway. Roeser Homes is building two new homes: The Bailey, a 3,067-square-foot, two-story plan that features four bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms on a wooded daylight lot that backs to green space, priced at $480,550; and The Carter, a brand-new 2,970-square-foot, 11/2-story plan with four bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms for $444,300.
LDH Construction has started a 3,226-square-foot Fairfield reverse 11/2-story home that features four bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms on a walkout home site, priced at $434,950.
In Cedar Creek’s Shadow Highlands neighborhood, Highland Park Builders has started a new two-story Woodside plan at 26163 W. 108th Terrace that features five bedrooms and 51/2 bathrooms and is priced in the mid-$400,000s.
In The Villas of Shadow Glen, Keystone Building offers a new Aspen reverse 11/2-story home on a wooded walkout lot on the golf course. The home includes stucco siding on all sides, tile roof with natural stone facade, four bedrooms and three bathrooms and is priced at $529,900.
The stylish, eye-catching homes of Cedar Creek are certainly one of the primary benefits to living in the community. The extensive amenities package is another. Amenities include a 65-acre sailing/fishing lake, two-story clubhouse with indoor gymnasium, four lighted tennis courts, two swimming pools, exercise room, sand volleyball court, playground equipment, picnic tables and mulched walking trails leading to various private parks and ponds. The amenities, combined with Cedar Creek's convenient Olathe location, give residents the feeling that they're living in the best of two worlds.
In addition, Cedar Creek hosts a variety of annual and ongoing events, including a community-wide garage sale. Other events include a ladies lunch bunch, walking group, yoga and a men's lunch group, all of which contribute to a heightened sense of community and companionship within Cedar Creek.
“We’ve made dear lifetime friends here,” said Cedar Creek resident Rhonda Heatwole. “The people have just been amazing — it’s a great place to call home.”
The community is tucked away in more than 2,000 acres of rolling terrain, yet the prime Olathe location puts homeowners in the heart of Johnson County and near easy highway access to travel throughout the Kansas City area and to Lawrence.
Cedar Creek is served by the Olathe School District, including Olathe Northwest High School, Mission Trail Junior High School and Cedar Creek Elementary School. The community is also near St. James Academy, a Catholic high school.
