Eager to see 15 distinctive properties featuring 14 stylish floor plans in 10 premier neighborhoods located throughout the award-winning Blue Valley, De Soto Unified and Olathe school districts, record crowds have visited Rodrock Homes’ Spring Parade of Homes entries.

Showcasing fresh and functional features, like a “kitchen within a kitchen” and seamless open floor plans, Rodrock’s model homes have garnered lots of attention from prospective homebuyers. Although the spring tour concludes Sunday, heavy traffic is expected with people returning for a second look in communities such as Colton, Summerwood and Wyngate in Blue Valley and Hills of Forest Creek and Gleason Glen in the western suburbs.

Known for building quality homes with floor plans geared to enhance busy family lifestyles in the area’s best school districts, Rodrock has showcased some of its most popular designs during this season’s parade, including Johnson County’s most-anticipated new community, Terrybrook Farms. This week Rodrock’s Cimarron — a new model in the Julian-Rodrock Homes Community — was named a Silver American Dream Award Winner in the Home Builder’s Association Spring Parade of Homes competition.

“We’re thrilled that our spring parade collection has been so well received and recognized,” said Rodrock Homes President Brian Rodrock. “With a wide variety of price points, floor plans and communities located in some of the nation’s most desirable school districts in the nation — which adds value to a home — there’s truly something for everyone.”

Location, location, location. All of Rodrock’s communities are situated in ideal locations throughout Johnson County.

Location is one of the primary reasons Colton, Summerwood and Wyngate attracts buyers. Nestled in the heart of the sought-after Blue Valley School District, Wyngate is adjacent to three schools — allowing kids to attend K-12 while growing up in one house. Colton and Summerwood are near elementary, middle and high schools, too.

“For about 90 percent of our homeowners, Wyngate’s location is key, offering rare, walk-up access via the community’s nature trails to Cedar Hill Elementary and Pleasant Ridge Middle School,” said Michele Davis, community manager and ReeceNichols real estate agent. “There’s not another Blue Valley community with this proximity to schools and the amenities package.”

Rodrock communities are also close to some of the area’s exceptional dining, shopping and entertainment options and have easy access to major thoroughfares for quick commutes to downtown, Kansas City International Airport and sporting venues.

Michelle Capek, Summerwood community manager and Weichert, Realtors Graham-Welch, LLC,

real estate agent, notes that “buyers appreciate the unique suburban retreat vibe of this neighborhood but also its convenience to popular destinations.”

Far away from the city’s hectic pace, Summerwood features a private stocked fishing lake with fountain, kid-friendly sports court, zero-depth entry lagoon-style pool with cabanas, scenic views to be enjoyed from over two miles of neighborhood trails and generous home sites.

Now in its final phase, Colton’s overwhelming success is due in large part to its prime Johnson County location — quietly tucked away in Overland Park on 151st Street between Antioch and Switzer.

“Rodrock Homes created an in-demand, dynamic community for families with very specific new home prerequisites,” said Kerwin Holloway, community manager and ReeceNichols real estate agent. “The excellent schools are important for buyers seeking a top-notch education for their children.”

Rodrock Ready homes available now. Parade goers not only have the opportunity to explore Rodrock’s new homes communities, they’re also treated to a wide array of Rodrock Homes floor plans, all with intricate details and an emphasis on modern living — including Rodrock Ready homes, available for immediate move-in.

Wyngate has two beautiful homes ready for immediate possession, including the two-story, five-bedroom, 4.5-bath Lancaster 4.5 ($559,000). Situated on a walk-out home site, this striking residence has a main floor fifth bedroom, gorgeous quartz finishes in the gourmet-equipped kitchen and a serene master suite with a sitting area.

Another extraordinary move-in ready home is the two-story Larsen EX ($617,500). The four-bedroom, 4.5-bath residence boasts high-end kitchen finishes, including stained custom cabinets and a large island with granite and quartz countertops, a hearth room, designated main-level office, spacious master suite and a striking master bath accented by a barrel ceiling.

Colton’s two-story, five-bedroom Hepton is located on a home site that backs to a tree line ($640,500). This well-appointed home has a large great room that flows into the formal dining room, kitchen and breakfast nook. The kitchen provides plenty of countertop space for prep work, with a large granite-topped island and perimeter counters, plus an abundance of custom cabinets for storage. Behind the pantry door is a second kitchen perfect for after-school snacks and entertaining overflow.

Summerwood’s ready-now homes include the 1.5-story, five-bedroom Anthem. This stunning model home has a master suite and second bedroom or study on the main level and a screened-in, three-seasons deck ($713,736). The two-story, six-bedroom Hepton backs to a green belt and has a chef’s kitchen with a large island, white cabinetry and pantry with a second oven and a finished lower level ($721,236).
