When Prieb Homes started building homes in the Estates of Highland Ridge subdivision, the idea was to take many of the features of the million-dollar+ homes and incorporate them into the upper $300k-mid $400k priced homes currently available within the community.
Nestled in picturesque western Shawnee near K-7, it is Shawnee’s perfect secret, with rolling hills surrounded by trees, this subdivision offers private, secluded homesites. The neighborhood features a pool and cabana complex, and is adjacent to a city park and the Shawnee Golf Course and Country Club with incredible access to K7 Highway.
The story and a half and two story plans featuring three car garages range from the high $380,000s to the $460,000s.
“I’ve always thought this community to be an amazing place to raise a family,” said Marti Lilja, Community Manager for Estates of Highland Ridge. “Being surrounded by existing, estate sized homes, there are lot of attractive elements, especially the established trees. It is a really nice community with oversized/private lots within the Mill Valley High School boundaries, which is a highly sought after school.”
“The community pool has been a ‘hot-spot’ for the kids and families since school has gotten out. We have been fortunate to have had the pool open during the earlier phases of development,” she continued.
People who have viewed and bought homes in Estates of Highland Ridge love the colors, the brightness, the craftsmanship and the ceilings, Lilja said. Prieb Homes puts a lot of emphasis on details – small details that you might not think matter, but add up to a high-quality home.
“If you walk around the perimeter of the subdivision, it is lined with trees,” Lilja said. “That is what was so spectacular and what we love about this neighborhood. You don’t have house backed up to house backed up to house. You have beautiful yards that are filled with these mature trees. Every home comes with covered patios or decks. It is very outdoorsy.”
Currently, there are five homes available in Estates of Highland Ridge that are available now, in addition to three homes in various stages of construction, and only eight lots remaining. Two furnished models are open weekends 1-4pm.
Another subdivision that Prieb Homes is working on is Whispering Pines in Kansas City, Kansas, offering unique architecture styles including modern, Cape Cod and even those boasting large wrap-around porches.
The reverse story and a half and two story plans featuring three car garages range from the low $300,000s to the $340,000s. Seven houses are in the process of being built and 17 distinctive lots remain, some on cul-de-sacs or backing to trees and a lake. Homes are shown by appointment.
Community amenities include a pool, cabana and community center with walking trails through a common area forest, a basketball court, volleyball court and four lakes.
“Prieb is good at trying to keep the established trees that were already there, characteristics that people can keep forever with their house,” Lilja said.
