Miss Thursday night’s episode of “Parenthood”? Set your DVR: KSHB, Channel 41, will air it at 3 a.m. Saturday.
The entire episode can also be viewed now on the NBC website.
KSHB pre-empted Thursday’s episode of the critically acclaimed but low-rated drama for a locally produced news special, “Leaving Afghanistan: Our Longest War.” The special featured morning co-anchor Lindsay Shively and reporter Garrett Haake, who embedded with the Missouri National Guard in Kandahar, Afghanistan.
The station reported hearing from “a handful” of disgruntled viewers who’d tuned in to watch “Parenthood” at 9 p.m. Thursday. The show is in its final season.
“We don’t pre-empt NBC that often, and when we do, we try to let people know when they can catch their show,” station spokesman Randy Thurman said.
KSHB had announced the pre-emption on newscasts, in a “crawl” in the 8 p.m. hour Thursday and on its website, Thurman said.
The Afghanistan special will be rebroadcast at 10 a.m. Sunday.
