All of that Big Slick Celebrity Weekend softball at Kauffman Stadium and bowling at Pinstripes must have been good training for Paul Rudd’s next challenge: running away from or toward some danger in “Avengers: Infinity War.” On Thursday, Just Jared posted leaked photos from the Atlanta set of Rudd’s next Marvel superhero film, in which he reprises his role as Scott Lang/Ant-Man.
That blockbuster, set to open next May, isn’t expected to include a lot of Ant-Man. But Rudd will stick around Atlanta awhile longer for the filming of his bigger spotlight, “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” co-starring Evangeline Lilly. It’s set to open next July. At the Big Slick auction June 24, the top moneymaker was a “Marvelous opportunity” to join the hometown host on that set and attend the premiere next summer. Two people bid $60,000, for a total of $120,000.

Can’t let it go
Speaking of highly anticipated sequels, voice work is about to begin on “Frozen 2,” says Entertainment Weekly. “I think I just got an email yesterday where I’m about to go into the recording studio in a couple of weeks, or maybe a month?” said Jonathan Groff, who plays Kristoff, Princess Anna’s love. “They’re about to really get into the thick of recording it, which I’m excited about.” The sequel isn’t due until November 2019. In the meantime, the full cast returns for the short “Olaf’s Frozen Adventure,” attached to Disney/Pixar’s “Coco” this Thanksgiving.
▪ Filming is underway on “My Dinner With Herve,” the HBO movie about the friendship between a struggling journalist (Jamie Dornan) and “Fantasy Island” star Herve Villechaize (Peter Dinklage). Now, says Deadline Hollywood, Andy García has signed on to play legendary actor Ricardo Montalban, Villechaize’s co-star.
▪ Ryan Guzman and Edward James Olmos will star in “Windows on the World,” a father/son drama about the aftermath of 9/11, says Variety. Olmos’ son Michael D. Olmos will direct, and shooting begins next week.
