“The Accountant”

Ben Affleck takes on the unlikely role of a socially inept math genius who cooks the books for criminal organizations. Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons plays the government agent who closes in. With Anna Kendrick and Jeffrey Tambor. Rated R. Time: 2:08.

“American Honey”

A troubled girl (newcomer Sasha Lane) runs away from home and joins a band of teenagers who travel the Midwest, making love, partying hard and subsisting by selling magazine subscriptions. One of their stops: Mission Hills. With Shia LaBeouf and Riley Keough. The film was a sold-out hit at Cannes. Rated R. Time: 2:42.

A teenage girl with nothing to lose joins a traveling magazine sales crew, and gets caught up in a whirlwind of hard partying, law bending and young love as she criss-crosses the Midwest with a band of misfits.
