With ever-changing locales, busy  lines and endless options, food trucks are an emblem of city life. At least... that’s what I tell myself when I chow down on street tacos twice in one week. This July, Kansas City’s delicious food truck scene tempts you to grab a generous handful of napkins. Why resist? Find a fellow food explorer and follow this guide to culinary paradise-- before it rides away.

1. Farmers and Food Trucks @ Merriam Marketplace, 5740 Merriam Dr.

Merriam’s scenic farmers’ market becomes an entertainment oasis each Wednesday evening. In addition to food trucks, the event features live music. You’ll put your takeout down to clap along… maybe...

July 12:Fresh and Tasty Catering, Polar Oasis, Casual Foodie
July 19:Pita for Good, Fresh & Tasty Catering, Marigolds
July 26:Werner's on Wheels, Fresh & Tasty Catering, The Carlsons

2. Food Truck Friday @ Alexander Majors Barn, 8201 State Line Rd.

Eat up and soak up Kansas City history. You’ll love roaming the rustic venue, built in 1856, while snacking on modern food truck favorites.

July 14:The Waffler, Taste of Brazil, Kona Ice

3.  Happy Hour in the Gardens @ KC Community Gardens, 6917 Kensington Ave.

Have a special diet? No need for substitutions -- vegans can get in on the food truck fun at this Swope Park celebration. Tour the gardens, or lay out a blanket and stay put for a ukulele band performance.

July 14:Peaceful Pig Vegan BBQ

4. The WeekEnder @ Crown Center, 2450 Grand Blvd.

The WeekEnder series presents free movies every Friday, so more of your cash can go toward food truck concessions. And we’re talking a lot more than popcorn here…

July 14:Estrella AZUL, Pita for Good, Kona Ice, Werner’s on Wheels
July 21:Estrella AZUL, Boyer’s Meatballs, Kona Ice, Werner’s on Wheels
July 28:Estrella AZUL, Pita for Good, CoffeeCakeKC, Kona Ice, Werner’s on Wheels

5. Kansas City’s Big Picnic @ The Nelson Atkins Museum, 4525 Oak St.

Picnics used to mean sandwiches and stale chips. This outdoor extravaganza takes it up a notch, offering hot dogs, ice cream and other summer treats from 13 trucks. Lawn games, badminton and a sculpture park stroll fuel your appetite.

July 17:Air Summer Snow, Bochi, Cirque du Sucre, Jazzy B’s, J & R’s Hot Dog Cart, KC Pinoy,KC BBQ, Savanna Jane Lemonade Truck, Monk’s Roast Beef, Poppy’s Ice Cream Truck, Snowie – KC Snow Cone Truck, Taco Republic, Wilma’s Good Food to Go

6. Food Truck Friday @ Union Cemetery, 227 E. 28 Ter.

A food truck fest in a cemetery might sound creepy but this monthly event draws large crowds and is a neighborhood favorite. Liven up your Friday with shaved ice, Filipino cuisine and bursting pita sandwiches. Bonus: A portion of the proceeds benefit Union Cemetery Historical Society.

July 21:Pita for Good, Werner’s on Wheels, KC Pinoy, Polar Oasis
