You want a great Super Bowl halftime show, you say? Well, if you missed the one during Sunday night’s game, you lost out.

Katy Perry came roaring into the stadium on top of a giant lion and ended by soaring high above the crowd in Arizona.

“You’re gonna hear me roar!!!!!!” she sang, and boy did she, with Lenny Kravitz, Missy Elliott, dancing sharks and beach balls.

The show looked more like an Olympics opening ceremony and in this case, that was a good thing.

Did we miss the kitchen sink somewhere in there?

And social media ate it up.

It took only minutes for #HalftimeShowKatyPerry to start trending on Twitter.

Her fans were blown away by what the pop princess was able to work into the show.

And so many costume changes, so many critiques to offer.

The giant lion – or was it a tiger? – she rode in on conjured other images for some folks.

One person thought the same thing we did: Is she wearing Jennifer Lawrence’s “Hunger Games” costume?

Was it over the top? You betcha.

You think she meant to be? Oh yeah.
