Reports: Val Kilmer recovering from emergency surgery for throat tumor

“Batman Forever” star Val Kilmer is reportedly recovering from emergency throat surgery, according to a report Friday from TMZ.

Sources said that Kilmer, 55, was “bleeding from his mouth” when paramedics responded to a 911 call made from Kilmer’s Malibu home on Monday night.

The Santa Monica Fire Department told People magazine that it received the call at 11:31 p.m. on Monday. The actor was taken to UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica.

Some reports suggest that Kilmer has been suffering from a throat tumor, with some publications suggesting that’s why he has appeared in public lately with his throat covered up.

The New York Daily News reports that his most recent public outing was to an L.A. Clippers game on Jan. 16 where he sat courtside with a scarf around his neck.

“Doctors performed surgery and he's currently recovering,” a source told TMZ.
