Stargazing

If Karl Childers from ‘Sling Blade’ ordered Starbucks it would sound like this viral video

You just know that the guy taking orders at the Starbucks drive-thru knew something was up when his customer asked: “You got any French-fried potatoes for sale in there?”

“I don’t think we do, unfortunately,” the Starbucks employee answered with a laugh.

What unfolded from there, in a video shot last summer, is going viral this week: A guy ordering Starbucks as the Karl Childs character from the 1996 movie, “Sling Blade.”

Billy Bob Thornton would be so proud.

The video was uploaded in August 2014 by a YouTube user named Psych Ward. It shows a man and, presumably, his wife and two young children, in a car at a Starbucks drive-thru.

The video popped up on Reddit a couple of days ago and has started making the rounds. As of Wednesday morning it had close to 1 million hits on YouTube.

Observed one Reddit user: “Love how in order to do the voice he has to make the same face as Billy Bob.”

We love how, in Karl Childers’ mind, a Starbucks venti is a “big ‘un.”
