Our cynical self griped, “Oh here we go, another show where people are naked.” But then we watched the trailer for VH1’s new reality series, “Dating Naked.”
Truth? It’s quite fun to watch.
Unlike the Discovery Channel’s “Naked and Afraid,” where two people have to survive the wild in the buff, “Dating Naked” challenges couples to survive first dates while nude.
“Usually it takes me three or four dates to see my girl naked,” one guy laughs. “This is such a time saver.”
Says another woman, obviously fed up with every way to find that someone special: “At this point I’m willing to try anything.”
We’re rooting for show host Amy Paffrath, whose sunny personality helps the show rise above sleazy.
The actress/comedian just happens to be a St. Louis native who first got interested in TV work during her days at St. Thomas-Aquinas Mercy high school in Florissant, according to her bio.
Wonder what her teachers say now?
The show premieres at 8 p.m. Thursday.
