Oooh Justin Bieber you just got served, son.
Oh sure you’re an international pop star with millions of dollars and zillions of fans who hang on your every word. (And yes, they’ll fill the Sprint Center when you visit on April 6). But did you see what Morgan Freeman just did with one of your songs?
For a Vanity Fair video he read the lyrics to “Love Yourself” in a way that was, shall we say, not that loving.
“My name is Morgan Freeman,” the 78-year-old actor intoned in his buttery smooth baritone. “I’m going to do a dramatic reading from a very popular songwriter.”

And then — wait for it — he rolled his eyes!
Later he can be seen mugging for the camera and reacting to Bieber’s lyrics as he reads them off a tablet.
As reported on Gossip Cop, “the actor’s spin gives the song an entirely new vibe. This is most evident during the lyrics, ‘My mama didn’t like you and she likes everyone. And I never like to admit that I was wrong… ’Cause if you like the way you look that much… Oh baby, you should go and love yourself.’”
Worse for Justin? This lighthearted dramatic reading (some might say gentle mocking) is getting to be a “thing.”
Last month Jon Hamm, Nick Jonas, John Legend, John Krasinski, Chelsea Handler and Kansas City native Don Cheadle all put their spin on the Bieb’s hit, “Sorry,” for the magazine.
“Sorry, not sorry,” I guess you’d say.
And as long as we’re on the topic of Freeman being able to narrate anything, here he is recounting the pedestrian action on the streets of Los Angeles, outside Jimmy Kimmel’s studio.
Somehow, Freeman coming up with “Perfect Selfie Paul” on the fly is amazing.
