Hold up, Mike Huckabee. This is not the way you get yourself elected president. Just sayin’.
The former governor of Arkansas slams Beyonce and Jay-Z in his new book, “God, Guns, Grits and Gravy,” which comes out Jan. 20.
U.S. News and World Report published excerpts of the book on Thursday and of course, the stuff about Jay-Z and Beyonce floated to the top.
“Huckabee hardly leaves a celebrity spared in his riffs on the corrosive effects of Hollywood culture, but he saves special scorn for hip-hop's most famous couple, Jay-Z and Beyonce,” the mag writes.
Huckabee compared the duo's 2013 Grammy Award performance to watching foreplay.
(O.K., truth? We had to have a cigarette after watching that, too.)
“My reaction: Why? Beyonce is incredibly talented – gifted, in fact. She has an exceptional set of pipes and can actually sing. She is a terrific dancer – without the explicit moves best left for the privacy of her bedroom,” Huckabee writes.
“Jay-Z is a very shrewd businessman, but I wonder: Does it occur to him that he is arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object?”
Jezebel has already nicknamed Huckabee the “concern troll.”
“It's almost impossible to unpack all of the racist bull**** going on in this statement, but an old white dude labeling a black man supporting and promoting his wife's work ‘pimping’ is pretty low,” Rebecca Rose fumes on Jezebel.
The Republican Huckabee quit his show at Fox News earlier this month presumably to prepare for another presidential run.
In this new book, he also compares being screened at airports by the T.S.A. to prison rape.
Title of the chapter: “Bend Over and Take It Like a Prisoner!”
