Here’s a primer for fans of ABC’s “The Bachelor,” which is returning tonight at 7 with a 3-hour season premiere.
Chris Soules is this year’s bachelor. He’s recycled from season 10 of “The Bachelorette,” where he was one of three finalists. The farmer from Iowa comes with a lot of built-in fans — note his followers: 84,000-plus on Twitter and 213,000 on Instagram. So he’s already a leg up on last season’s bachelor, Juan Pablo Galavis, who earned few fans and chose Kansas City’s Nikki Ferrell (update: they broke up.)
Soules was on ABC’s “Good Morning America” Monday, talking to co-anchor Lara Spencer about his show.

After playing a scene where one of the bachelorettes arrives in a white lingerie-inspired bodysuit/dress (watch how it confuses the other contestants), Soules talked about something another bachelorette did that really did take his breath away.
“She told me that ... I could ... plow her field any day.”
Oh no! A farming joke, Spencer pretty much says.
But then — in his ever considerate ways — Soules described that contestant a “classy girl.”
And the cheesiness doesn’t stop there. Spencer said Soules is referred to as Prince Farming.
And yes, the “sole reason” that Soules is on the show, he says, “is to find my soulmate.”

And whether you’re love-watching or hate-watching tonight, you’ll have plenty of company.
