Disney announced Thursday that Harrison Ford was injured on the set of the new “Star Wars” movie in England.
The studio reported that Ford, 71, was hospitalized after sustaining a serious ankle injury while filming Thursday.
“He was taken to a local hospital and is receiving care,” Disney’s statement reads.
According to media reports, Ford was at Pinewood studios when a hydraulic door fell down and hit him.
The Hollywood Reporter said Ford said the door in question was on the Millennium Falcon.
He was airlifted to the hospital with a possible fractured ankle.
“Star Wars: Episode VII” is due in theaters in December 2015. Disney said shooting will continue as planned while Ford recuperates.
