We have no idea what floor this poor fellow was trying to reach, but how much money do you want to bet that he takes the stairs the next time? We sure as heck would if this happened to us.
The man, identified as 31-year-old Jose Vergara Acevedo, stepped into an elevator in Bustamante Park, Chile, on Friday and went for the ride of his life.
The elevator didn’t plummet. It sent him skyward, up 31 floors in 15 seconds, right into the roof of the building.
If that wasn’t horrifying enough, in his panic he started pushing the elevator buttons, which caused the doors to open so he could see how fast he was traveling.

And that’s where we would have wet our pants.
Firefighters rescued Acevedo, who reportedly suffered head and leg injuries, according to Emol Chile.
The building was relatively new, just eight months old. Authorities are investigating the incident.
