When a Canadian couple with four kids decided to participate in the “Elf on the Shelf” tradition, they put their own spin on it.
A life-size spin.
Joe Wynberg and his wife, Megan, conspired to dress Joe up as a larger-than-life Elf on the Shelf.
And their commitment to the month-long project is impressive.

“So we finally caved and decided to do the “Elf on the Shelf” thing,” Megan posted on her Facebook page. “The kids are going to be so surprised! We named our elf FLE and he will be in some pretty precarious spots over the next 24 days.”
FLE’s first “precarious” spot was on top of the refrigerator, which looks like a pretty tight squeeze from the photo.
The next day, FLE was shown sitting on top of the dining table, chocolate on his face.
Turns out the mischievous elf got ahold of the kids’ advent calendars.
And with four kids, we’d guess that’s a lot of chocolate for one elf to consume.
Judging by the third photo of FLE, we were right.
“FLE is out of control!” Megan posted, along with a photo of her husband squatting over a baking sheet. “Couldn’t handle those advent calendars he ate last night. Today is the second after all!”
Day 4 didn’t get much better for the Wynberg household. FLE was shown making a snow angel on the hardwood floors, which were covered with flour (and some suspicious yellow writing).
“FLE was pretty excited about the first snowfall of the year and I’m pretty sure he peed on the floor,” Megan posted.
And even after Megan vowed to get rid of FLE, he returned the next day outside the Wynberg’s window.
The next two days of FLE’s shenanigans were especially interesting:
We can’t wait to see what Megan and FLE have in store for the rest of December.
