Just before winter hits, Kansas City native Nathan Darrow will make his entrance as Victor Fries, aka Mr. Freeze, on tonight’s season finale of Fox’s “Gotham.” Show begins at 7 p.m.

Villainous superhero is a nice notch for Darrow, a graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School, to add to his growing resume.

He also played Meechum, the fiercely loyal (and occasional menage-a-trois partner) bodyguard of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) in Netflix’s “House of Cards.”

In “Gotham,” Darrow’s character is described as “ferociously smart” but incapable of making meaningful connections with other people. When Nora, the wife of Mr. Freeze, becomes ill, the villain stops at nothing to figure out a way to save her, even if that means cryogenically freezing her.

According to, Darrow can also be seen in the upcoming HBO Films movie “Wizard of Lies” alongside Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer. He will also play a recurring role in Showtime’s Wall Street drama “Billions,” starring Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis.

Victor Fries is a recurring role for Darrow. A show producer tells that next season, “we’re going to be telling a heavy Freeze story in Episodes 12 and 13.”

That means Mr. Freeze will be back on television just in time for ... spring.
