Target will continue to sell ‘OCD’ sweaters despite backlash

Some Target shoppers were upset this week when a new holiday sweater appeared in the retailer’s stores and online.

The red sweater, with the words “OCD: Obsessive Christmas Disorder” on the front, did not appeal to shoppers with the real OCD.

That’s Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, the condition that causes anxiety and irregular obsessions and compulsions.

But despite complaints, Target has decided to continue selling the sweater.

“We never want to disappoint our guests and we apologize for any discomfort," a statement from the retailer said. "We currently do not have plans to remove this sweater."
