“Saturday Night Live” had a sketch about Ferguson all ready to go over the weekend but it was cut from the show for reasons still unknown.

Now that NBC has released the video of the dress rehearsal of the sketch, it’s clear why it got dumped: Parts of it are more cringe-worthy than funny.

Cast members Cecily Strong and Kenan Thompson play the hosts of a morning TV show in St. Louis who are clearly not comfortable with being all cheery and peppy in the wake of the Ferguson protests.

It only gets worse during a cooking segment when they have to interview author “Chef Darrel,” played by guest host James Franco.

Turns out that Chef Darrel’s last name is Wilson.

Darrel Wilson.

Sound like another name you’ve heard?
