Sporting KC defender Aurélien Collin has a passion for more than soccer. The tailored, well-dressed athlete has a knack for fashion and is on pace to help the men of Kansas City find modern, flattering clothing through his fashion line, AC78.
Created in 2012 with business partner Tom Paolini, AC78 first appeared in Halls and local retailer Bunker before opening its own space on the Country Club Plaza earlier this year. As of Wednesday, it can also be found downtown in the Garment District space at 1350 Main St.
“It’s nothing we’ve had here before,” said Courtney Yager, general manager of the Garment District. “It’ll be great for downtown.”
Collin’s line at the Garment District is a temporary pop-up shop through the holidays, Yager said, and ranges in price from $35 to $500.

Men can also create custom suits with AC78 and Paolini, a custom suit designer and owner of the Paolini Garment Co.
“I really love suits, so when I work with Tom, it’s about very elegant clothing,” Collin said.
The pop-up shop at the Garment District features casual but stylish T-shirts, polos, cardigans and accessories including beanies, bow ties and scarves. The collection also includes V-neck T-shirts and polos for women in basic and statement colors.
“The brand can touch from one person to the other,” Collins said.
