We’ve heard flight attendants try to make those boring safety instructions funny, but none have hit the mark quite like this woman on a Southwest Airlines flight.
Martha “Marty” Cobb’s safety talk, given at the start of a flight to Salt Lake City, Utah, sounded more like a rapid-fire stand-up routine.
Passengers probably figured something funny was coming their way when she introduced her colleagues as her “ex-husband, my new boyfriend and their divorce attorney.”
“As you know it’s a no-smoking, no-whining, no-complaining flight,” she told passengers. “It’s a ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ and ‘you are such a good looking flight attendant’ flight.”
We won’t spoil the rest of the fun, except to say that we’ve never heard a flotation device called a “teeny, weeny, yellow Southwest bikini.”
“We're a fun-loving airline,” Southwest spokesman Dan Landson told the “Today” show. “As you can tell in the video, she definitely likes her job.”
Video of Cobb’s spiel has nearly 1.4 million hits on YouTube, where whoever posted it added this new intro as it went viral:
