Hugh Jackman’s ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ claws to top

Despite lukewarm reviews, the new “Wolverine” movie destroyed the competition this weekend with gross of $87 million.

Rounding out the top five were “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” with $15.3 million, “Obsessed” with $12.2 million, “17 Again” with $6.3 million and “Monsters vs Aliens” with $5.8 million.

I know “Wolverine” got mediocre reviews, but I liked it. I think my opinion matters – I grew up reading Wolvie comics.

Granted “Watchmen” set the bar really high for superhero movies, but I didn’t go in expecting the greatest movie of all time, and I was certainly entertained. My only complaint: I would have liked to have seen an R-rated movie, but that's just nitpicking.
