Girls Gone Wild and the Pope

Folks in the Philadelphia area watching a live telecast of the Good Friday service at the Vatican last week got more than they prayed for.

A 30-second commercial for the “Girls Gone Wild’s Search for the Wildest Bar in America” DVD accidentally aired during the 2 a.m. cable telecast from Rome — and only one person called to complain, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

A cable company spokesman said the ad inadvertently aired because of a glitch during an Emergency Alert System test and that nothing hard-core aired.

Not one to miss a chance at publicity, Girls Gone Wild CEO

Joe Francis

claimed a “huge spike” in sales and said he was “happy to have shared an audience with the Pope.”
