Gossip Cop and the New York Post both report that NBC is talking to comedian George Lopez about replacing Donald Trump as host of “Celebrity Apprentice.”
The network dumped Trump last month after he made controversial comments about Mexican immigrants when announcing his presidential run.
When that happened, speculation ramped up that the show would perhaps tap a Hispanic host to replace Trump.
NBC has said nothing official about the hire, though both the New York Post and now Gossip Cop have verified that Lopez is in the running.

“There have been initial conversations with George Lopez’s representatives, and, given Donald Trump’s crazy comments, George would be the perfect loud response to Trump,” a source told the Post.
Another source told the newspaper: “It could be a smart move by NBC to cast George as Trump’s replacement, and it would also bring diversity to the network.”
Other possible new hosts mentioned include Martha Stewart and Sir Richard Branson.
When TMZ asked Lopez last week if he would be interested in the “Celebrity Apprentice” job, he said, “I don’t know, I don’t think so ... I’m not Donald Trump’s secondhand citizen.”
Lopez also said he wont golf at any of Trump’s golf courses anymore in response to Trump’s “vile” comments.
