Yep, that was the move. But it didn’t go quite as Paul Rudd planned.

Next time, Paul Rudd will know to take off his underwear before he tries to pull a “Basic Instinct” move on someone.

That was the lesson he shared with Jimmy Fallon Monday on “The Tonight Show” in recounting how he tried to pull a stunt on his “Ant-Man” co-star, Michael Douglas.

Douglas also starred with Sharon Stone in “Basic Instinct,” which gave us the famous scene of Stone uncrossing her legs in a most unladylike manner.

Rudd tried to recreate the move while he and Douglas were filming a scene in “Ant-Man.”

“It was his last day and we were doing a close-up, and I thought, 'You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to Basic Instinct him.' When he's speaking I'm sitting in a chair across from him and I'm going to do the classic (leg crossover),” Rudd told Fallon.

“I didn't tell him. I didn't tell anybody! I get to set and they're getting ready. I'm wearing a T-shirt and jeans, so I unzip my pants and I get it over and out. I'm like, 'This is going to be great!'"

Uh, but it wasn’t.

Here’s how Rudd described it.
