Tommy Chong has cancer again.

The 77-year-old Cheech & Chong star told Us Weekly on Tuesday that he is being treated for rectal cancer. “I’ve had some medical issues lately,” he told the magazine.

Chong was also diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2012. A strong proponent for the legalization of marijuana, Chong turned to hemp oil, supplements and dietary changes to treat the cancer, he wrote in a 2013 blog post at CelebStoner.com.

“I’m cancer free,” he wrote. “That's right, I kicked cancer's ass! So the magic plant does cure cancer with the right diet and supplements ... And now for a celebration joint of the finest Kush...”

And, yes, he’s using marijuana this time around, too.

“I'm using cannabis like crazy now, more so than ever before,” he told the mag. “I'm in treatment now. I've been — just the case either way, either I get healed or I don't. But either way, I’m going to make sure I get a little edge off or put up.”

He told his fans the news in a series of tweets on Wednesday.
