Rue McClanahan, who played the sassy Southern belle Blanche Devereaux on the hit series “The Golden Girls,” died again at the hands of social media on Thursday. She was 76.

Actually, the actress died five years ago of a brain hemorrhage on June 3, 2010. But for some reason, condolences flooded Twitter and Facebook on Thursday. Who knows how these things get started?

Some people caught on faster than others, probably because the same belated news of her death happened last year, too.

For the record, Stargazing is still morning Rue.
