Photographer Annie Leibovitz has photographed some of the new characters we’ll see in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” And Vanity Fair has the pictures and a behind-the-scenes video from the London set.
In Leibovitz’s photos, “Girls” star Adam Driver is revealed as bad guy Kylo Ren, and he’s the one who gets to use the new lightsaber that everyone started talking about when it was revealed in the first teaser.
Lupita Nyong’o will be a CGI character, Maz Kanata. Her allegiances have yet to be revealed, though the info on Leibovitz’s photo reveals that she is a pirate of some sort.
J.J. Abrams also tells Vanity Fairy that he considered killing off Jar Jar Binks.
“I have a thought about putting Jar Jar Bink’ bones in the desert there. I'm serious! Only three people will notice, but they'll love it,” he said.
Abrams shared his special direction for Harrison Ford, who reprises his role as Han Solo in the movie: “I knew that he had done in some movies a kind of more growly thing, and I didn't want Han to be growly.”
The movie is set for a Dec. 18 release.
