Fox just made a whole lot of people happy by announcing that it is firing up a six-episode series of “The X-Files.”

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will reprise their roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, according to the announcement on Fox.com.

The show’s creator and executive producer, Chris Carter, will also return.

“I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” Carter said in the Fox statement. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”

Production is set to begin this summer. No word on when the series will be aired. More information was promised at a later date.
