Vin Diesel has named his new baby Pauline to honor the memory of his beloved friend, Paul Walker, his “Fast & Furious” series co-star who died in a car crash in November 2013.

Diesel took to social media last week to announce the birth of his daughter with longtime girlfriend, model Paloma Jimenez. The two are already parents to daughter Hania, 6, and son Vincent, 4.

He revealed the baby’s name on the “Today” show Monday.

Diesel told Natalie Morales that he felt like Walker “was in the room” when the baby was born.

“There's no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just ... knew he was there... It felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world,” he said.

The last movie Walker will appear in, “Furious 7,” premiered last week at the South By Southwest film festival, where Diesel broke down while introducing the film.

Walker was filming the movie when he died.

“This was a labor of love,” Diesel said. “It was in some ways the hardest movie I ever had to do because the relationships that you see on film are so real. When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother.”

The movie hits theaters next month.
