In other Big Slick news, Park University and Smithville High School alum Casi Joy, who competed on this season of NBC’s “The Voice,” will sing the national anthem after the celebrity softball game at Kauffman Stadium June 23 and before the Royals take on the Blue Jays that night.
Menefee, 51, hosts “Fox NFL Sunday,” where Big Slick host Rob Riggle has had a regular gig. This will be his first Big Slick weekend.
Forte, 46, is a “Saturday Night Live” alum who created the Emmy-nominated Fox show “The Last Man on Earth.” Lo Truglio, 46, stars on Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and appeared in “Superbad,” “Paul” and “Role Models,” which starred Big Slick host Paul Rudd. Both Forte and Lo Truglio are Big Slick alums.
Big Slick is announcing three guests every weekday through June 16. Tuesday’s initial celebrity announcement included funny guys Weird Al Yankovic and Johnny Knoxville and CNN’s Jake Tapper. On Wednesday: actors Jermaine Fowler, Aisha Tyler and Kevin Pollak.
The celebrities will join hometown hosts Jason Sudeikis, Eric Stonestreet, David Koechner, Riggle and Rudd to raise money for the Cancer Center at Children’s Mercy hospital.
Events include the softball game at 5 p.m. June 23 at the K; an 8:30 a.m. block party, red carpet arrival and bowling tournament June 24 at Pinstripes in Overland Park and a sold-out auction and party that evening at the Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland.
