War Machine has Wonder Woman’s back.

Kansas City’s Don Cheadle, who played James Rhodes and his armored alter ego War Machine in Marvel’s “Iron Man” and “Avengers” movies, spent much of Tuesday swatting down complaints about theaters hosting women-only screenings of the DC Comics-based “Wonder Woman.”

“An all women screening of Wonder Woman pits men against women? How?” he tweeted. In another, he wrote, “There's no point to men making a point about celebrating themselves. That's called ‘the planet.’ Claro?”

Kansas City’s Alamo Drafthouse is among the theaters hosting women-only screenings of the film complete with female-only waitstaff. The screening will raise money for local domestic violence shelter Hope House.

One disgruntled fan called it a double standard, to which Cheadle replied, “A double standard presupposes equal footing. This ain’t that.”
