Ellen DeGeneres is right: The Civil War has never been cuter.
Macey Hensley, the 7-year-old Kansas girl who regularly appears on DeGeneres’ syndicated talk show, “Ellen,” suited up in her Union blues and attended the Hartford City Civil War Days earlier this month in Indiana. The segment airs at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 24.
During the trip, Macey advises President Abraham Lincoln to avoid the theater and manages to broker a peace accord between Robert E. Lee and Ulysses S. Grant.

Macey appeared on the show a few weeks ago to lay a presidential trivia smackdown on NBC’s Matt Lauer. In previous visits to the show, she has met Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. She also visited for Presidents Day, where she wowed DeGeneres with her expansive knowledge of U.S. presidential history.
DeGeneres announced on the show Wednesday that Macey will be traveling across the country this summer, reporting from the country’s most iconic landmarks.
Macey is from Council Grove, Kan., about 100 miles west of Kansas City.
