I am happily listening to Elvis Presley sing “White Christmas” as I write this: A New York radio station has switched to a year-round Christmas music format.

What a great gift for Christmas geeks.

On Thursday, WQSH-FM in Albany, N.Y. changed its name from PopCrush 105.7 to Santa 105.7 and started playing holiday music.

In a statement to Syracuse.com, station official Jake Demmin said that the move “might strike some as being risky in this environment of new media, but I’ve looked at the numbers and they don't lie.

“There's literally a clamoring for Christmas music 24/7/365/52.”

The station promises to play “everything from Sting to Bing.”

I, for one, will be listening to the live stream, 24/7/365/52.
