Who knows how these things get started?
Caitlyn Jenner attended a pre-inauguration dinner in Washington on Thursday — no surprise because she’s a long-time Republican.
And somehow a rumor got started that Trump’s folks want the reality TV star to dance with the new president at one of the balls Friday night to symbolize his support for the LGBTQ community.
Jenner has said she believes Trump will be good for women’s rights and LGBTQ issues. She’s even volunteered her servics to the new administration to forge that relationship.
The New York Post’s Page Six gossip page reported Thursday that Trump’s advisers were urging him to “save at least one dance” for Jenner Friday night.
“The image of Trump dancing with Caitlyn would send a strong message that he supports gay rights and trans rights,” an unnamed Republican told Page Six. “A picture is worth a thousand tweets.”
But a rep for Jenner told People there was no merit to that story.
“This is a ridiculous story,” Jenner’s rep told the magazine Thursday. “There have been no discussions about who Caitlyn will or won’t dance with, or if she will dance at all. I can’t deal in hypotheticals.
“Of course, the real question is if they danced, who would lead?”
