One half of the “Property Brothers” team has been nailed down.
Drew Scott, who stars with his twin, Jonathan, in the popular HGTV series, proposed to his longtime girlfriend Linda Phan on Tuesday, People reported.
“I’ve never met another woman like her and once you do, you want to be with her forever,” Scott, 38, told People of his 31-year-old girlfriend.
Scott announced the happy news to fans with a tweet on Wednesday.
He spent weeks carrying the engagement ring around with him while he coordinated a surprise proposal at the Toronto restaurant Piano Piano, according to People.
“I’ve had to be as stealthy as a ninja to pull this off,” he told the magazine.
The two met in 2010 at a Toronto Fashion Week event. Scott revealed last month that Phan, creative director for Scott Brothers Entertainment, usually travels with him for the show.
While working on a project in New Orleans, he told Entertainment Tonight that “it’s been nice to have her on the road with me, but wherever we go, she’s actually our boss, so she keeps us in line.”
Here are the details on the proposal, from People.
Scott, who has recorded two country singles with his brother Jonathan, recorded his own version of Train’s “Marry Me.”
During dinner Tuesday night, the restaurant played the track while the staff brought out a cake decorated with illustrations from one of Phan’s favorite books, Dr. Seuss’s “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”
The cake read: “Oh the Places We’ll Go.”
Scott told Phan they were going to a company holiday party next, but it was really a surprise engagement party where Jonathan, their brother J.D., and other family members were waiting.
And, bad news for broken-hearted fans of the show thinking, “Well, there’s still the other Property Brother.”
Jonathan told Chelsea Handler in October that he had recently started dating a woman named Jacinta.
