The biggest night of the red carpet season came and went on Sunday, delivering unto fashion fans some of the most heavily embellished gowns we’ve seen in years.

Before the ceremony designer Tom Ford told Womens Wear Daily that actresses are afraid to walk the gauntlet of the red carpet.

“I do not know an actress who likes it. They're fearful of what's going to be in reviews that wouldn't have been there 25 years ago,” he said. “They're fearful of the glam cam. It's like being on a global game show, and it's horrible. They're terrified.”

Most of them had nothing to worry about on Sunday.
