What’s all that sniffling you hear today? That’s social media getting all sentimental over Disney characters after watching what Mickey Mouse and the gang did to mall shoppers in Long Island.

Newsday reports that Walt Disney World recently pulled a hidden-camera stunt on shoppers at the Westfield Sunrise Center in Massapequa to promote it’s DisneySide campaign.

Disney World built a pop-up store at the mall. As shoppers passed in front of the shop’s opaque windows Mickey, Goofy, Donald Duck and other Disney characters shadowed their movements.

Watch the one guy on his cell phone catch his “shadow” and tell the person he’s talking to, “Hold on. I think I’m getting shadowed by a Goofy.”

The YouTube video of the stunt has gone viral with millions seeing it since Tuesday.

Commenters on Facebook are having a universal reaction: Tears.
