The organizers of the third annual Boulevardia have announced this year’s music lineup and the headliners comprise a diverse lineup of bands and artists from several genres and decades.
The headliners: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, an indie-pop band from Concord, Mass., led by the former lead singer and songwriter for Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin; the English Beat, ska/pop/soul legends from Birmingham, England; Gin Blossoms, an alternative-/jangle-pop band from Tempe, Ariz.; Soul Asylum, a stalwart ’90s alt-rock band from Minneapolis; Mariachi El Bronx, the alter-ego of the punk band the Bronx ; indie-rock singer/songwriter Meg Myers; country singer/songwriter Nikki Lane; and Grizfolk, an alternative-rock band from Sweden.
The three-day food, beer, music and art festival runs June 17-19 in the West Bottoms, around the 12th Street viaduct. More than three dozen bands will perform on three stages. The rest of the music lineup comprises bands from Kansas City and Lawrence, including Radkey, the Grisly Hand, Katy Guillen & the Girls, the Architects, the Greeting Committee, Duncan Burnett and the Riot and Yes You Are. The dance/music/aerial troupe Quixotic will also perform. A full list of performers is available at boulevardia.com. Set times will be announced later.
