Country music artist Sturgill Simpson will spend much of the rest of the year on the road, touring North America and Europe, including a stop at the Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland on Nov. 1, a Tuesday. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

He will be touring on his new album, “A Sailor’s Guide To Earth,” released on April 15. The album has been widely praised, generating a cumulative score of 86 at Metacritic, which quantifies reviews from around the web. The album includes a stunning country-soul version of Nirvana’s “In Bloom.”

The tour opens Monday night in Lexington, Ky. It includes summer legs in the United Kingdom and Scandinavia. It comes to Kansas City after two shows at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashviile; both are already sold out.

Simpson has performed twice in Kansas City: at Knuckleheads in December 2014 and at Crossroads KC in July 2015.
