The Roots to headline 2015 Wakarusa festival

Organizers of the the 12th annual Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival have released the first part of the 2015 lineup, and the Roots, the house band on “The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” top the list of more than three dozen bands.

Also announced: Sound Tribe Sector 9, Young the Giant, Galactic, Ozomatli, the Devil Makes Three, Old 97’s and Paper Diamond.

Two Kansas City area were announced: Split Lip Rayfield; and aerial/dance/music troupe Quixotic

The festival, which comprises six stages, runs June 4-7 at Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, Ark. Passes are on sale at wakarusa.com. A full-event pass is $164 plus fees. A camping or parking pass is extra.

More bands will be announced on Jan. 14.

The Wakarusa festival was founded in 2004 and for five years was put on at Clinton Lake State Park in Lawrence. It moved to Ozark in 2009.
