Duran Duran is going to spend a big part of 2016 touring on its new album, “Paper Gods,” and one of its tour stops will be at Starlight Theater on July 24, a Sunday. The openers: Chic with Nile Rodgers, who produced “Paper Gods.”
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at KCStarlight.com, at 916-363-7827 and at the Starlight box office,which is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and Saturdays for sales only.
The 27-show tour opens March 28 in Durham, N.C., and closes Aug. 3 in Glendale, Ariz.
Duran Duran has performed six times in Kansas City: at Sandstone Amphitheater in the summers of 1987 and 1992 and at Starlight in August 1982, Municipal Auditorium in February 1984, Memorial Hall in March 1989 and the Midland theater in July 2005.

In 1981-83, Duran Duran released three albums that made Billboard’s Top 10 and produced five Top 10 hits, including “Hungry Like the Wolf,” its sole No. 1 hit in the U.S.
