Multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter Andrew Bird has announced his 2016 tour, and it will stop at the Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland on April 21, a Thursday. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m, Friday at the Midland box office or via axs.com. Prices are $25 to $45. For each ticket sold, $1 will be donated to organizations working to reduce gun violence.
Bird will end 2015 with four sold-out shows at 4th Presbyterian Church starting Dec. 7. They are part of his seventh annual Gezelligheid performances. On Dec. 11, he will perform at the Crossjinx Festival at the Hideout with a band that includes Glenn Kotche of Wilco and Neil Finn.
His 2016 tour will open with four shows in the Netherlands at the end of February. The North American leg of the tour opens in Nashville on March 30. He will be touring with a full band.

In February, Bird released “Echolocations: Canyon,” his ninth solo studio album. He has also released three studio albums with Andrew Bird’s Bowl of Fire. Bird performs on several instruments, including violin, guitar and glockenspiel. His music is a mix of jazz, indie folk, indie rock and chamber pop.
