The Grammy-winning country-rock duo Big & Rich will headline the music lineup at this year’s American Royal World Series of Barbecue, which will move from the American Royal Complex in the West Bottoms to Arrowhead Stadium.

The pair will perform Oct. 3, a Saturday and day three of the contest, which runs Oct. 1-4. They will be joined by a lineup of regional country acts. On Oct. 2, local bands will perform.

Big & Rich are Big Kenny (William Kenneth Alphin) and John Rich. In 2004-2007, they released three albums, all of which went gold or platinum. Their debut, “Horse of a Different Color,” sold more than 3 million copies. Its follow-up, “Comin’ to Your City,” sold more than 1 million copies. Their hits include “Save A Horse (Ride a Cowboy),” “8th of November” and “Lost in This Moment,” their first No. 1 single.

The move to the Truman Sports Complex will provide space for more contestants at the barbecue competition, now in its 36th year. The livestock and horse shows, as well as other American Royal events, will still be held in the West Bottoms.
