Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear sign with label that’s home to Mumford & Sons

The Kansas City son-mother duo of Madisen Ward and Ruth Ward --- known as Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear -- have signed with Glassnote Records.

“We feel very fortunate to be apart of the Glassnote family; a record label that we highly respect, on a personal and artistic level,” Madisen Ward told The Star. “We can’t wait to get to work; we’re gonna have some fun.” Their debut album is expected to be released in early 2015.

Glassnote, which was voted best indie label by Rolling Stone in 2011, is home to two dozen bands and artists, including Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, and Chvrches. Its headquarters are in New York and London. The label is distributed by the Universal Music Group.

Madisen Ward & the Mama Bear play acoustic music that crosses several genres: country, country blues, folk, R&B. To read about the duo’s history, go here.
