The British rock band the Who is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with a 2015 North American tour that will stop at the Sprint Center on May 5. Ticket information is forthcoming.
Led by its only two remaining founding members, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, the band will kick off the tour April 15 in Tampa, Fla. It has also scheduled a stop May 7 in St. Louis. The tour ends Nov. 4 in Philadelphia.
On Oct. 27, “The Who: Who Hits 50!” will be released. It will be a career-spanning collection of hits and favorites plus “Be Lucky,” its first new song in eight years. The track features Zac Starkey on drums, Pino Palladino on bass and Mick Talbot (Style Council, Dexys Midnight Runners) on keyboards.
Royalties from that song will be donated to Teen Cancer America, a charity founded by Daltrey and Townshend in 2011.
