Foo Fighters on Monday announced additional dates to their Concrete and Gold Tour, and Kansas City was one of seven cities added.
They will perform at the Sprint Center on Oct. 12, a Friday. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Jan. 26. There is a pre-sale for members of the Foo Fighter Fan Club from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, until Thursday, Jan. 25. The tour also stops in St. Louis on Oct. 13.
It will be Foo Fighters’ first Kansas City show since August 2015, when lead singer Dave Grohl performed on a roving throne to accommodate a broken ankle he suffered at a show earlier on the tour. Before that show, they infamously taunted some anti-gay protesters in front of the Sprint Center.
Their previous Kansas City show was at the Sprint Center in September 2011. Before that show they also serenaded the same group of protesters. They also performed the last rock concert at Kemper Arena in July 2009 because the Sprint Center was already booked on that date.
Foo Fighters are touring on “Concrete and Gold,” their ninth studio album, which was released in September.
