Bill Murray showed lots of love to a Kansas City band Saturday afternoon.
Murray has been in town all week, starting with the South By Southwest Film Conference and into the music conference, which began Wednesday. On Saturday, he was at Maria’s Taco Xpress where the Philistines, a Kansas City band, were performing. Here’s what some of the band members had to say about his visit, via Facebook.
Cody Wyoming, guitarist and vocalist, quoting the movie “Caddyshack”: “Well, Bill Murray likes us. So I got that goin‘ for me, which is nice.”
Steve Gardels, drummer: “He gave us a standing ovation. My life is complete.”

Michelle Bacon, bassist: “He complimented my bass playing and asked me to sit down and offered me a bite of food. He later passed by and said, ’You’re Miss Bacon.’ And then I died.”
Murray also tried to buy a copy of the Philistines’ CD, but they insisted he take a free one.
